Let's save our Keweenaw, together!
Call to Action

Help expand the Keweenaw Tip Recreation Area, now and for generations to come!

Through the first few months of 2021, many hundreds of KORC members, outdoor recreation enthusiasts, and conservationists sent in Nomination Forms to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund. Hundreds more letters were sent to our elected officials. It was an incredible response and got the State's attention. Our elected officials know how important the incredible landscape of the Keweenaw is for our local economy and quality of life. Unfortunately the State passed on the first opportunity and now over 32,000 acres are under threat, recently listed for sale by AFM Real Estate. The map below shows our original goal in expanding the Keweenaw Tip Recreation Area, and the updated map shows what land we stand to lose.

The time is now, your letters can make the difference! We have created  sample letters for our elected officials at the local, state, and federal levels. Please take the time to personalize each letter and mail it to the address provided. You can also submit your comments online or via email, links are provided at the top. Better yet... you can do both!

By taking a few minutes to answer this Call to Action, you can be a part of protecting thousands of acres in the Keweenaw for future generations. The conservation of incredible landscapes and public access depends on you!
